The Yonkers Police Department shared an alert from the Newark Police Department’s Special Victim’s Unit for Melvin Buckhana, who was reported missing in January and may be suffering from mental issues.
According to police in Yonkers, Buckhana has ties to Yonkers and is known to frequent the area.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, Buckhana, 30, was reported missing from Alexander Street in Newark. He was last seen wearing a red hat, a dark shirt and blue jeans. Investigators noted he is physically healthy, but his mental health has been described as “poor.”
Police said that Buckhana suffers from being bipolar. His family thinks he may be traveling to Miami, Florida, or could be staying in the area of Orange Avenue and Sanford Avenue in Newark.
Buckhana has brown hair that’s in a ponytail with a medium build. He is 6-foot and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Investigators noted that Buckhana has a tattoo of the word “Matrix” on his right arm.
